Dear Readers,
I was recently inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit in 24 year old Jamal Williams. He is a native of Oakland California and a recent Howard University graduate. A forward thinking innovative soul who has created an application titled "KidFit". In a generation that is heavily reliant on technology our children find themselves spending significant time gaming and web surfing avoiding much needed excercise. On a quest to bridge the gap between excercise and technology Jamal utilizied his physical therapy background and creative talent to develop an application that assist in teaching children how to stay FIT.
KidFit can be purchased in APPLE's APPLICATION STORE on ITUNES $1.99
ME: Please share with the readers What KidFit is?
JW: KIDFIT is the premier iPhone®, iPod Touch®, and iPad® fitness application designed to promote healthy lifestyles and combat childhood obesity.
ME: What inspired you to create KidFit?
JW: Obesity has been declared a global epidemic. In the United States, 18% percent of children 5-18 are obese and It's quite clear the old ways aren't working. Children are fascinated with technology so I searched for a way to create a product that combines information with entertaining mobile devices. Thanks to the evolving structure of Apple's Application platform, many of the barriers to entry have been eliminated for creative designers, coders, and entrepreneurs. I felt KIDFIT was the perfect solution because it's global, economically sound, and it helps solve a problem the world is currently struggling with.
ME: Can you share with the readers the biggest challenge you encountered creating KidFit?
JW: The biggest challenge I encountered when I did KIDFIT was deciding to do it. There's always going to be bumps in the road; that's unavoidable. Deciding which roads you take is the hard part.
ME: What drives you to create?
JW: I wake up everyday and if I think of a good idea, I try to develop it. Everyone has great ideas and has the potential to do great things. Some people leave them there and I'm afraid to be one of those people.
ME: Describe yourself in one word
JW: Free
ME: What do you plan to accomplish over the next 5 years?
In the next five years, I plan on fostering as many of my ideas as possible through education, business ventures, and hard work.
ME: Lastly what advice would share to encourage empower and inspire readers?
JW: Use your talents to change the world.
